Intense Pulse Light

Skin Rejuvenation - Hair Removal - Acne - Spider Veins

Intense Pulsed Light [IPL] technology is a treatment breakthrough that can correct a variety of benign skin conditions, such as facial skin imperfections, the signs of photoaging, pigmentation, freckles, unsightly small veins, and other blemishes. It offers safe, non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type, providing superior cosmetic results and out-standing satisfaction

Prices vary per treatment area and are personalised for each individual. A holding deposit is required at time of booking and refunded at course/treatment end or after consult if no further appointments booked.Pigmentation, solar lentigo's, age spots, all a thing of the past now with IPL Skin Rejuvenation. Years of sun damage and exposure can be treated in a series of 4-6 treatments using our Lux G and Lux Y hand pieces for superior skin rejuvenation.

We usually recommend treatments every 2-4 weeks and it is expected that the skin surface will take on a brown, flaky appearance as underlying melanin makes its way to the skins surface. Equally important is the use of SPF 30+, and trying to avoid any more direct sun exposure during and after treatment. Highly recommended is the use of exfoliant and serums to regenerate.

Capilleries

Due to the delicate nature of the Capillaries and Venous system, Laser Express only treats Facial Capillaries. Using the Lux G Handpiece, we selectively target the capillary, using heat and light to thermalize and expand the capillary wall. In some instances, we are able to diminish the capillary immediately, in other cases, it may take 2-3 treatments.

When the capillary is still visible, it may take 2- 3 days for redness to disappear, then a slight brown or flaking will take place. With the Laser Express method, we do not use ice in any of our vascular treatments; we find this inhibits good results. Most importantly though, it is essential to use the correct fluence and joules to avoid burning and possible long term damage to the skin. SPF 30+ is an essential part of our treatment and correct aftercare is a must. Treatment is usually fortnightly or monthly.

IPL Information

What qualifications does the technician have?
In NSW there is currently no legislation regarding the use of IPL and laser machinery. As a technician and qualified trainer of IPL and IPL operators, I can assure you there are many months of training to ensure you receive a safe and comfortable treatment. Side effects are less likely to occur when treatments are performed by an experienced and certified technician. All of our technicians undergo extensive post - graduate training at various facilities not only in Australia but around the world. We are members of w.a.l.t. the world assoc for laser therapists and l.i.a. the laser institute of America. All of our staff have passed the l.s.o. certification and specialize only in IPL, day - in and day -out.

But why are some prices different / cheaper?
Over the last 3 years there have been many machines hit the market that just don’t give results. We are extremely fortunate to use only the Palomar star lux and multi lux systems. The star lux alone can deliver up to 70 cj, but at the same time keeping the skin cool and protected. Many companies are offering their treatments at greatly discounted prices as their machines deliver only 5- 10 joules of power, roughly the equivalent of sitting under a light bulb. Our machines on average deliver 20-45 joules per treatment, but can and do go to 70 joules. So you may save money on the day, but really require up to and over 20 treatments.

Ask these questions before having a treatment anywhere;

  • Does the machine have contact cooling?
    Our Palomar machines have in- built cooling inside, therefore as the lens is depressed against the skin the skin feels quite cool.
    If the system does not have cooling, do not risk it. The skin must be kept adequately cool, while the light beam that penetrates the skin is thermalizing the hair shaft.
  • Does the IPL system have wide smooth pulse technology?
    Wide smooth pulse allows higher treatment power, delivered safely and comfortably. The star lux alone can deliver up to 500 milliseconds in one pulse, at the same time protecting the skin and allowing more effective treatments. Higher power = less treatments = less money for you to pay.
  • What coverage does the system have?
    Palomar probes are on average 7.4 square cms of lens per pulse! For lux g (capillaries and rejuvenation) we use a smaller probe, approx 3 square cms. An average set of 1 / 2 legs takes us roughly 15-20 minutes compared to 1 hour for some machinery. Who wants to waste precious time when you could be in and out in half the time?

Ask the technician questions;

  • Ask how many nanometers does the IPL penetrate?
    Recently I enquired at a clinic as to how many nanometers this particular IPL penetrated and the technician looked at me as if I was from another planet. When asked how many nanometers sunlight alone penetrated, she could not answer. This person was claiming to be a leader in IPL treatments. Our machinery differs. If you are dark skin, we will use a long pulse to by-pass melanin in the skin. For lighter skin or stubborn hair, a short pulse is preferable.
  • Can they treat all colours and skin types?
    Our technicians are some of the very few in NSW to carry and use lux r and luxrs, designed with special filters especially for black and tanned skin, most systems cannot treat dark skin without causing hypo-pigmentation.
  • Does the operator have insurance?
    Ask to see their policy! Many rogue operators out there just fire away and hope for the best, when they have a complaint; they shut up shop and then re-open under another name.
    Others have such a bad track record they cannot secure insurance. We have extensive insurance in place, but as we never need to call upon it, we are highly regarded in the industry. If the operator cannot show you a policy, run for your life!
  • Does the technician give you her own personal number for after hours?
    All laser express technicians will give you their direct mobile number. We stand by what we do and if you do experience a problem or you get home and remember something you forgot to ask, you can call anytime. Be wary of an operator who thinks they're too good to give you their number

At the end of the day, only you can make an informed decision on who should do your treatment. Our aim is to give you 100 % value for money and a safe treatment. If you need further information ask your technician
